
Since 1987, Mr. Elliott has been the President of CFE Financial Inc., a private investment banking company. From January 1, 2005, Mr. Elliott was Chief Financial Officer of Tangarine Payment Solutions Corp. a public company, which he listed on the TSX Venture Exchange. He arranged the successful sale of the business in March 2009. He was Chief Financial Officer of Ritchies Inc., a private company in the business of auctioning art and other artifacts. From 1998 to 1999, he was VP - Finance, Chief Financial Officer and Secretary of Vital Retirement Living Inc., a public company listed on the TSX Venture Exchange. He has been a director of VRL since 1998. He is presently a director of one other public company, Sylogist Inc., listed on the TSX Venture exchange.
Mr. Elliott holds a degree in B.A. (Economics) from the University of Western Ontario and B. Comm. (Accounting) from the University of Windsor.
Mr. Mason was formerly head of mining investment banking at a large Canadian securities firm and has worked in the financial sector for 17 years. Prior to that, he was employed as a geologist with a number of Canadian and international mining companies. Mr. Mason also serves as a director of Scorpion Mining Corporation.
Mr. Mason holds a BSc Honours degree in Geology from the University of Western Ontario and an MBA from the University of Toronto.
Mr. Niemi is a geologist with more than 13 years experience in the mining/resource industry, both at corporate and operational levels. Mr. Niemi is currently Vice President, Geology with Noront Resources, prior to which he was Manager, Technical Services, for Kinross Gold Corporation. He started his career with Inco Technical Services Ltd. in 1996, working on the Victor Deep project in the Sudbury basin.
Mr. Niemi is a member of the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario and holds a BSc Honours degree in Earth Sciences from Laurentian University.
Mr. Romain has been involved in the mining and mineral processing industry for over 20 years and will guide Gowest from being involved purely in exploration towards becoming a development and mining firm with producing assets. He has been the President and CEO since 2008 and has overseen the early stages of consolidation and transition.
Most recently, Mr. Romain was President and CEO of a Canadian manufacturing company that sold products exclusively to the global mining industry. Mr. Romain took the company public as an income trust in 2005 and, with the regulation changes to the income trust sector, the company was sold to a private equity group in 2007. Mr. Romain is a native of Timmins, Ontario.
