About Gowest

Gowest Gold Ltd. acquired 100% of the Frankfield gold project in March, 2009. In December of that year Gowest announced the acquisition of a series of adjacent properties from Goldcorp thereby quadrupling its land position and the company raised $6.5 million through a private placement.

In January 2010 Gowest commenced a 20,000m drill program aimed at expanding the known zone of mineralization at the Frankfield East deposit and exploring additional gold anomalies located along similar geological structures. In April 2010, the company announced significant extensions to the Frankfield East deposit and in August the company announced it had demonstrated a large mineralized envelope containing widths and grades consistent with the existing 43-101 resource (3.5-4m of 6-7g/t Au) thereby confirming the potential in excess of 1 million ounces of gold at the Frankfield East deposit . In the last quarter of 2010 the company announced the strike length was 750m and also it continued to intersect significant gold mineralization at vertical depths beyond 750m while finding the presence of multiple parallel gold bearing structures throughout the deposit. In December 2010, Gowest closed a $2.5 million private placement aimed at allowing the company to accelerate its exploration plans due to the excellent early results.

In 2011 Gowest initiated an aggressive 18,000m drilling program with up to 4 rigs turning on the property. This drilling helped demonstrate excellent continuity throughout the deposit, and gold mineralization extensions from near surface to beyond 900m vertical depth. In April the company announced a Joint Venture agreement to explore properties contiguous to its existing land package and along the same geological structure that hosts the Frankfield East deposit. The new acquisitions increase the company's total property interests to approximately 6000 hectares (60 square kilometres) along the largely undeveloped Pipestone Fault in the Timmins camp. It is the Company's interpretation that the Pipestone Fault is a splay off the prolific Porcupine-Destor Fault which has produced the majority of the 145 million ounces of gold produced historically along the Abitibi-Greenstone belt.. Through its ongoing work at the Frankfield project, Gowest has developed an intimate understanding of the regional geology and effective methods for identifying high priority gold targets.

On June 1, 2011, Gowest announced an updated gold resource for the Frankfield east deposit which contains 348,000 ounces of gold in the Indicated category (1,621,000 tonnes at a grade of 6.68 g/t Au) and 838,900 ounces of gold in the inferred category (4,342,000 tonnes at a grade of 6.01 g/t Au). A conservative cut-off grade of 3 g/t Au was utilized to complete the resource but it was also demonstrated that the resource at Frankfield East is contained primarily within high grade structures making it extremely robust with respect to fluctuations in gold prices. By adjusting the mining cut-off grade the average grade of the deposit can be increased significantly with minimal reductions in the overall ounces of contained gold. The resource estimate has been completed by ACA Howe International Limited ("ACA Howe") and reported in accordance with Canadian Securities Administration National Instrument 43-101 ("NI 43-101") requirements and CIM Standards on Mineral Resources and Reserves.

Drilling to expand the growing Frankfield East resource and to upgrade additional inferred resources into the measured and indicated categories is ongoing and will continue through 2012. A preliminary economic assessment is in progress and is expected to be completed in fall 2011. In addition the company is continuing its efforts to identify other high priority gold exploration targets along this highly prospective and evolving gold structure.

The baseline environmental process is expected to be completed in Q3 allowing for a permitting application to be submitted in Q4 2012. The company expects to make a development decision in 2012 and possibly begin development work in H2 2012. The Frankfield property is easily accessible from Timmins via highway 655 and an existing all-weather gravel road.
